[He really doesn't know what to make of this girl with the purple hair and the crazy leg prosthetic, but he certainly doesn't feel like cooperating with her!!
Nic's just sitting up against the wall, near the gun room. Waiting. He doesn't talk or even bother writing, he just nods that he is, and then raises his eyebrows as if to ask what she's gonna do about it.]
[Unfortunately for Melt, Nic can't hear her disappointment and thus doesn't fully grasp it. Oh well. He shrugs anyway, before getting out his notebook;]
Dunno how you can even see anything down there [In the water. Since it's, you know, a lake underground. And it's night.]
[It's a bit later in the day, shortly before everyone is to head down to the ballroom for dinner. Nic's been looking for a certain someone. She's certainly not hard to spot, but that doesn't necessarily make her eas to find.
But when he does track her down at the chapel, the first sign of his presence is the sound of a blade being unsheathed. He's not taking a swing at her, yet. But the sword is pointed in her direction. He sure didn't have a sword last week!! But he does have one now. And he's fixing Meltryllis with a tired, distantly angry expression.]
[ Meltryllis is seated at the front of chapel, her legs drawn up somehow even with those impossible spikes. She turns at the sound of the blade, and she smiles, something complicated and enigmatic.
She's not an idiot. She can read his expression. ]
week 1, thursday
Meltryllis is at the edge of lake, looking at its murky depths like it'll answer her unspoken questions. She glances at Nic, askance. ]
Are you going to be here for the rest of the night?
[ Her tone hints something, something like, please leave. ]

If she stays underwater for a while, though, he will wander over to the water's edge to see what she's doing.]

I expected something more interesting.
[ She sounds disappointed. ]

She understands now. ]
That's part of why. Water should be more clear, more beautiful.

[This is probably a joke]

That's more my sister's place.
[ She's so rude. ]

What were you hoping to find down there, anyway?
no subject
[ Or something interesting enough for murky water to hide.
No, she just wanted to see if the life in the lake was affected by curfew magic or not. ]

Oh, what's wrong?

You killed Nia.
[It's not a question. Just a statement presented with no real emphasis.]
no subject
... ]
Is that so? I must be special that you'll use your voice for this.
no subject
Not denying it
[It's probably a question, but he's not exactly an expert at inflection. He's doing his best.]
no subject
Would you believe me if I did?
[ She thinks they both know the answer to that. ]
